Privacy Policy

The short version: Acre by Acre does not collect any personal data unless you choose to sign in.
- Playing needs no account. Unless you sign in, your progress is stored only on your device.
- Signing in is optional. If you sign in with your email, we keep your email address and a copy of your farm so you can play on more than one device. They are used for nothing else.
- No ads and no tracking of any kind. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or personal data.
- The iPhone and Android apps offer a few optional in-app purchases. Apple or Google handles the payment, and we never see your card or payment details. The website has no purchases.
- Without an account, the game works fully offline and sends nothing anywhere while you play.
What the game stores on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves your farm (land, crops, trees, tractors, upgrades, level, Farm Bucks) and your settings (Sounds, Vibration and Landscape mode) in storage on your own device. On iPhone and iPad this is the app's local storage and device preferences. On the web it is your browser's local storage. The website also remembers, on your device, whether you closed the "Add to Home Screen" tip. Unless you sign in (see below), none of this is ever sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.
What we collect
If you don't sign in: nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal information or usage data.
If you choose to sign in (Menu → Save & sync), we collect only what that feature needs:
- Your email address, to send you a 6-digit sign-in code and to know which farm is yours.
- Your farm (the same game progress listed above, plus when it was last saved), so it can be loaded on your other devices. Your Sounds, Vibration and Landscape settings are not uploaded; they stay on each device.
This information is linked to your account and used only to sign you in and keep your farm in sync. It is never used for ads or tracking, never sold, and never shared except with the service providers that run the feature for us: Supabase, which hosts the sign-in and the saved farms, and the email delivery service that sends the sign-in codes. The game contains no software development kits (SDKs) for analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking; the only outside library is the Supabase sign-in library, which is bundled with the game and is used only if you sign in.
Save & sync is still being set up. Until it is switched on, the menu shows "Coming soon" and the game sends nothing anywhere.
In-app purchases
The iPhone and Android apps offer optional extras: the Farm Pass (tractor paint jobs, farmyard decorations, a supporter sign and a one-time gift of 1,000 Farm Bucks), a Tip Jar, and packs of Farm Bucks. Everything else in the game is earned by playing. The website does not sell anything.
Purchases are made and paid for entirely through Apple's App Store or Google Play, under their terms and privacy policies. We never receive your name, card or payment details. The app asks the store which items you own. On your device it keeps a small record of the purchases it has delivered (the store's transaction numbers, which items they were and how many bought Farm Bucks you have) so that each purchase is delivered exactly once. This record stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you sign in to Save & sync, your farm copy includes your Farm Bucks, paint job and decorations, just like the rest of your progress.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. On iPhone, use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use Google Play's order history. To get the Farm Pass back on a new device, use Menu → Shop → Restore Purchases.
Vibration
If Vibration is on, the iPhone app uses the phone's built-in haptics for small taps and bumps. This uses no data and can be turned off in Menu → Settings.
Deleting your data
Use Menu → Sell the Farm to wipe your farm and start over. Farm Bucks you bought and the Farm Pass are kept when you sell the farm. Deleting the app (or clearing this website's data in your browser) removes the save on that device.
If you signed in, use Menu → Save & sync → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your email address and your cloud save from our systems right away. The farm on the device you are holding stays, so you can keep playing without an account. Sign out only signs this device out; your account and cloud save remain until you delete them.
Children
Acre by Acre is suitable for all ages and can be played fully without an account. The optional sign-in asks only for an email address. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before signing in. A parent or guardian can delete the account at any time from Menu → Save & sync → Delete account, or by emailing [email protected].
Website
If you play the web version at playacrebyacre.com (or its older address, acre-by-acre.netlify.app), the pages are delivered by our hosting provider, Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify may process standard technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages. We do not use that information, and the game itself sends nothing back unless you sign in. The iPhone and iPad app has the game built in and does not load it from the web.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
